Clutch Components and Basic Operation

Whether you need a quick refresher or are new to transmissions, learn everything in this free webinar.

The Basics of Manual Transmission Clutch

Learn from the Clutch Experts

The basics of manual transmission clutch systems in five minutes, including clutch components and basic operation.

The clutch pedal is typically the only part of the clutch system that the driver will ever see. Have you ever wondered what the pedal is connected to? Even if you’re familiar with clutch systems, you may want to learn about some of the latest innovations in this area. In this short 5-minute free webinar, you will learn the basics of manual transmission clutch systems, including the components and their basic operation.

What Are the Clutch Components

A clutch is more than just a part connecting a pedal to the transmission. It contains several components that are key to its functioning. A lot happens between the driver pressing the clutch pedal and the transmission changing gears. We’ll explain how the parts of the clutch system work and what clutch components are included in the Valeo clutch kit. As not every clutch system is the same, we’ll also detail the different variations of components like pressure plate cover assembly (PPCA), clutch release bearing, flywheels, and more.

How to Handle Clutch Parts

Clutches are complex parts that can be easily damaged if mishandled. Do you always need to bleed the hydraulic fluid before installing a hydraulic actuation system to the clutch? We’ll explain what rules to follow when installing these parts and how to avoid damage and contamination. We’ll also briefly detail the tools required to correctly install and repair these components to avoid damaging them. When installing a new clutch, do you always need to replace the flywheel? Watch this webinar to find out!
